With Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge covering over 14,000 acres, there are more than 45 miles of trails to wander! As winter melts into spring, join refuge staff in exploring the trails during the Intro to Hiking program. No prior experience needed, and no special equipment required. Registration is NOT required. Registration Information: 25 spots are open for optional registration through Signup.com. Optional registration allows us to prepare supplies and materials for the program, send reminders, and allows us to contact you in the event of inclement weather!
Activity Level: Medium-active. Program will require walking outdoors for up to 1.5 miles.

What to Bring: Good walking shoes that could handle muddy or snowy conditions, water, and appropriate clothing. Monitor weather forecast and be prepared for the temperature and precipitation. A cancellation notice will be sent via email to registered participants in the event of severe weather. If you are not registered, please monitor our website, SignUp, or MeetUp page.
Accessibility: Toilets and drinking water will not be available. The trails are not plowed, so be prepared to walk in snow if it is present. There is a parking lot.
