Gallery Exhibit - Amanda Spaid

Artist Bio

A Maryland native, I attended the School of Art and Design at Montgomery College in Silver Spring (formerly the Maryland College of Art and Design), and earned a degree in Fine Arts. From there I attended the Columbus College of Art and Design in Ohio, where I earned my Bachelor’s in Illustration. I'm a fine artist and Illustrator in the DC Metro area.

My hope is that my work inspires people to slow down, pay attention to the world around them, and really examine not just the changes taking place to the planet, but what’s literally happening in their backyard. By focusing on birds and animals local to the DC Metro area rather than exotics from hundreds or thousands of miles away, I hope that my work inspires people to make decisions that benefit all the inhabitants of their local area--wildlife and humans alike.
