The Open House will run from 10:00am to 4:00pm. The Owls in the Valley Presentation will run from 10:00am to 11:00am. Learn about the ecology, habitats, behaviors, and vocalizations of owls in the Willamette Valley, as well as what we know about the effects of wildfire on owls.
About the presenter: Leila Duchac is an ecologist for the Fire Effects Information System (FEIS) at the USFS Rocky Mountain Research Station Fire Lab in Missoula, Montana. Based in Corvallis, Leila has a master’s degree in Wildlife Science from OSU. Prior to working for FEIS, Leila was a researcher with the USFS Pacific Northwest Research Station where she evaluated how forest owls use recently burned landscapes.
Meet outside the Headquarters office of William L. Finley National Wildlife Refuge. Parking is available in the parking lot.
