Darby Marsh Beach Cleanup

Join staff and volunteers of Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge and Partners for Clean Streams for a Beach Cleanup at Darby Marsh, a unit of Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge! The event will take place on Saturday, August 10th from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Volunteers will meet at the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center and be shuttled to Darby Marsh, where we will spend about an hour picking up any trash we encounter along the beach. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water. Supplies such as gloves, bags, and trash pickers will be provided.

Call (419) 313-3236 for more information and to register. Space is limited. Please note, Darby Marsh is closed to the public – access is only by permit or through special events like this.

This event is part of our recurring monthly cleanups, usually scheduled on the second Saturday of every month. Keep an eye out for future volunteer events to help us keep plastic waste and other litter off of our beaches and out of our waterways and local communities!
