Join the Friends of the Bear River Refuge to celebrate Urban Wildlife Conservation Day with activities, a bird presentation, and Walk for the Wild 5k Challenge Saturday, October 12 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the refuge Visitor Center.
At 10 a.m. Ogden Nature Center will provide a live bird presentation at the refuge Visitor Center. While at the Visitor Center, you can also decorate your own personal nature journal to use as you complete the 5k challenge and pick up a Walk for the Wild themed scavenger hunt to complete as you move through nature.
Complete the Walk for the Wild 5k Challenge October 12-19. There are two ways you can register to complete the 5k Challenge with the friends this year:
- Join Friends, Fish and Wildlife Service staff, and members of our community at the Refuge Visitor Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 12.
- Visit the Refuge Visitor Center when it is convenient for you between October 12 and 19. Walk the trails located behind the visitor center to complete your 5K route for Walk for the Wild.
