Building Wood Duck Boxes at Nulhegan Basin Division, Vermont

Have you ever wanted to make a wood duck box, but wasn't sure where to start?

Join Back Country Hunters and Anglers and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service staff at the Nulhegan Basin Division in Vermont for a wood duck box building event. Materials and instruction will be provided. There will also be a brief presentation on the installation and care of wood duck boxes.

We’ll have supplies on hand, and a couple drills, but if you have your own cordless drill, please bring it along.

If you want to build a box but don’t know what to do with it, we’ve made arrangements to donate these boxes to VT Fish and Wildlife for their use.

We estimate that a box will take from 30-60 minutes to build. Arrive when it works for you that morning between 9am-12pm. Dress for the weather, we’ll be under cover in a workshop without heat.

This event is capped at 25 boxes (1 box per individual/group/family), so please sign up prior to attending.

The event will be held at the Nulhegan Basin Division of the Silvio O. Conte National Wildlife Refuge (5396 VT Route 105, Brunswick VT 05905).
