With Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge covering over 14,000 acres, there are more than 45 miles of trails to discover! Join us on our beginner hiker series as we explore the trails together. No prior experience needed and no special equipment required.
Date and Time: Sunday, October 8th from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m.
Location: Jens Caspersen Landing, no exact street address, but approximately 3711 Nicols Rd, Burnsville, MN 55337. If unable to find trailhead, call (952) 858-0715.
Registration Information: 10 walk in spots available and 15 spots open for voluntary registration through SignUp
Activity Level: Medium-active, we will walk at a good walking pace and make some stops.
Meet Us: Meet us near the Minnesota River Greenway trailhead at Jens Caspersen Landing (MN DNR).
What to Bring: Good walking shoes, water, and bug spray/sunscreen if you have it. Monitor weather forecast and be prepared for the temperature and precipitation. A cancellation notice will be sent via email to registered participants in the event of severe weather. If you are not registered, please monitor our website, MeetUp and Facebook pages for a cancellation notice.
Accessibility: This walk takes place on mostly flat ground on a paved trail. We will walk about 3 miles. There are occasional benches along the route. Restrooms and water are not available at this location.
Program Leader: This program is led by refuge staff.
