Adaptable Animals Homeschool Education Program
Monday August 25, 2025. 10 am - 1 pm.
Want to learn about the wonderful animals found on St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge and how they are adapted to survive? This program is for you. Hands-on activities for kids of all ages.

GPS Coordinates for the visitor center/education building are: GPS: 30° 9.097' N 84° 8.845' W
- This program will take place on St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge, stations will be set up outside of the education building (see GPS coordinates above).
- This is a self guided drop in program, you can arrive as early as 10:00 am and it will end at 1 pm. You do not have to stay the entire time and you can do any of the stations you like and spend however much time you like at them during the program hours.
- Self guided stations will be set up both indoors and outdoors around the education building.
- Stations will include hands-on activities, a walk along the Plum Orchard Pond Trail, and more.
- Each family should register their own children. This allows us to have contact info for each family to send program information prior to the program date.
- Everyone in attendance should wear closed toe shoes that you don't mind getting wet or dirty.
- Participants do not have to pay refuge entrance during the event, however, if planning to stay after lunch, you will need to purchase one of the passes that are valid at the refuge. (St. Marks annual pass, America the Beautiful Sr. Pass, America the Beautiful annual pass, Duck Stamp, Federal Access pass, St. Marks NWR day pass. Passes can be purchased 8 am - 4 pm Mon - Friday and 10 am - 5 pm Sat and Sun at the education building in the Barred Owl room.
- No pets allowed for this program.
- Please dress for the weather as most of this program will take place outdoors.
- Bring a lunch and picnic at Picnic pond after the program if you want, but please do not feed the wildlife.
