A bald eagle was found dead by Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Officers on March 9, 2016, in the Lost Lake Subdivision area of Hamilton County, Tennessee. Investigators believe the bald eagle was shot sometime between March 1 and March 9, 2016.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to a conviction of the person or persons responsible for this unlawful act.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are jointly investigating this incident and seek information related to the shooting. Bald eagles are protected by the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
