Southwest Region Wins Big in Refuge System Awards!
The Southwest Region took home three of four prestigious awards last week as the National Wildlife Refuge Association announced the recipients of their annual national Refuge System Awards. John Vradenburg, Supervisory Biologist at Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in Socorro, New Mexico was named Employee of the Year; Wiley “Dub” Lyon received Volunteer of the Year in recognition of his unwavering support for the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge in Marble Falls, Texas; and the Friends of the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge also in Socorro, New Mexico took home Friends Group of the Year.
