for Upper Pahranagat Lake. Engineers discovered that the entire structure was in poor condition and needed to be replaced, which resulted in an extended project schedule to accommodate the construction of a new water outlet structure.

The Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge, approximately 90 miles north of Las Vegas in Lincoln County, Nevada, is located in the Pacific Flyway, and encompasses 5,380 acres. The wildlife refuge was established August 16, 1963 to provide habitat for migratory birds, especially waterfowl. Pahranagat's lakes and marshes are a rare sight in this part of Nevada.
