January 13th Presentation on “Alaska Wildlife in a Changing Climate”

The Alaska Region of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service invites the public to a January 13 presentation at the Alaska Zoo Gateway Building entitled “Alaska Wildlife in a Changing Climate.” Glenn Juday, PhD, a University of Alaska Fairbanks professor and an engaging expert in the field, will share new scientific research concerning what the future may hold for Alaskas wild lands and the wildlife that depends upon them. The lecture is free to the public. The Zoo’s Gateway snack and espresso bar opens at 6 pm, and the talk begins at 7 pm.

The “Wildlife Wednesdays” winter speaker series focuses on the Great Wildlife of the Great Land…Alaska. The series is held in Anchorage at the Alaska Zoo, 4731 O’Malley Road. Presentations take place on the second Wednesday of every month from 7 pm to 8 pm. This is an educational venture between the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service/National Wildlife Refuges, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, The Nature Conservancy, Defenders of Wildlife, Alaska Geographic, Anchorage Libraries, and the Alaska Zoo. The goal of the series is to share with Alaskans fascinating and inspiring information about the wildlife of Alaska’s mountains, rivers, and oceans from wildlife experts of various disciplines. This popular community and public oriented program is in its sixth year.
