Presentation: Conserving Kodiak and Afognak’s Unique Coastal Ecosystems

Tim Richardson, Director of Government Affairs for the American Land Conservancy and editor of the book, “Kodiak Bears and the Exxon Valdez,&rdquoWill discuss the pristine habitats of Afognak and Kodiak Islands and describe his more than two decades of habitat restoration following the Exxon Valdez oil spill, as well as his ongoing work to conserve and protects these biologically diverse ecosystems. The program, part of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service “Coastal Habitat Conservation Presentation Series,” celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Service’s national Coastal Program, will begin at 2:00 p.m. June 5th at the Alaska Public Lands Information Center Auditorium, located at 605 West Fourth Avenue (Downtown between F and G Streets).
