W.O.W. Outdoor Recreation and Conservation School
to be held this May in mid-Missouri
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services Columbia, Missouri National Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office will host the second annual Wonders of Wildlife (W.O.W.) National Outdoor Recreation and Conservation School this May near Columbia , Mo. Outdoor education classes will be offered Friday, May 1 through Sunday, May 3 at Katfish Katys campground along the Missouri River.
Introductory courses in camping, fishing, birding nature photography, canoeing, geocaching, and wilderness survival will be offered to individuals and families. More advanced outdoor enthusiasts are also invited to participate in fishing, morel mushroom hunting, bird watching, archery, and boating. Children ages 5-8 may enroll in W.O.W. Kids Camp, and children 9-12 may enroll in River Wranglers, both full day courses.
Participants are invited to a campfire and astronomy session Friday evening, and courses will begin Saturday morning from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided on Saturday.
