Alligator River and Pea National Wildlife Refuges Are Back in the Business of People

Today, Mike Bryant, Refuge Manager for both Pea Island and Alligator River National Wildlife Refuges, announced that the refuges are now fully open for all authorized public uses.

"There are still trees down on many parts of Alligator River, and theres certainly road and habitat work on-going at Pea Island," he added. "But, were happy to be able to welcome the public and provide the opportunities for recreation that they seek."

Bryant cautions that areas on both refuges may continue to be closed off and on while work is done. Construction zones continue to be closed to the public. These areas will be clearly marked.
