Final Recovery Plan Published for Kneeland Prairie Pennycress

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service today published the final recovery plan for the Kneeland prairie penny-cress (Thlaspi californicum), an endangered plant found in only one location in Humboldt County, California. The Kneeland prairie penny-cress was federally listed as endangered in February 2000. The Service believes recovery of this species will take approximately 10 years and cost about $296,000.

"This is a species that is experiencing a high degree of threat, but also has a high potential for recovery under the Endangered Species Act," said Steve Thompson, manager of the Service
