The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced today its finding that a six-month extension is needed before it can make a final determination over whether to list slickspot peppergrass (lepidium papilliferum), a plant native to southeast Idaho, under the Endangered Species Act.

The extension will give the Service time to consider additional information on the status of the species and the threats it faces, and to resolve disagreements over the sufficiency and accuracy of available data for the species.
