U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Declines to List Two Mt. Ashland-Area Plants
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service today announced that two rare plants native to southern Oregon do not warrant federal protection under the Endangered Species Act, because the two species face few significant threats, and their numbers and distribution appear to be stable.
Furthermore, the U.S. Forest Service has signed a new conservation agreement to safeguard them.
"We recognize the concern over these naturally rare plants," said Anne Badgley, Regional Director of the Service
