Land management practices may affect the endangered Houston toad in different ways. A meeting will be held to discuss the toad and its habitat needs on Wednesday, October 23 from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. at the Bastrop State Park, Refectory Building. The park is located one mile east of Bastrop on Texas 21 or can be accessed from the east on Texas 71 or by way of Buescher State Park along Park Road 1.
"The community has asked for guidance on various land management practices and how landowners can conduct their normal agricultural, wildlife management and other similar practices in a manner that is beneficial to the Houston toad," said Ren Lohoefener, Texas State Administrator for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service).
