Public Workshop Planned to Review Draft Conservation Strategy for Rare Lake Tahoe Plan July 23 & 25, 2002
Public workshops will be held in the Tahoe Basin to inform the public of the Draft Conservation Strategy for the Tahoe yellow cress, a rare plant found only on the sandy shores of Lake Tahoe.

Two meetings will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2002, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the North Tahoe Conference Center in Kings Beach, California. Two meetings are also planned for Thursday, July 25, 2002, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the El Dorado Public Library in the City of South Lake Tahoe, California.

The Draft Conservation Strategy encourages cooperation among local, state, and federal agencies and private landowners, for the protection and management of Tahoe yellow cress and its habitat. The public is encouraged to attend the workshops to see an overview of the Conservation Strategy and learn the objectives of the cooperative effort.

The meetings are sponsored by the Tahoe yellow cress technical advisory group, which comprises representatives from TRPA, federal and state agencies, and the Tahoe Lakefront Homeowners
