RIO GRANDE CUTTHROAT TROUT NOT LISTED AS THREATENED OR ENDANGERED

The United States Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) today announced its determination that the Rio Grande cutthroat trout does not warrant protection under the Endangered Species Act. The decision cites State and Federal Management Plans that have improved habitat conditions, as well as improved cooperation with private land owners, as reasons why listing is not currently warranted.
