Fish and Wildlife Service Seeks Comments on Future Plans For the Antioch Dunes National Wildlife Refuge
SACRAMENTO, California--A draft Environmental Assessment/Comprehensive Conservation Plan to guide the future management of the Antioch Dunes National Wildlife Refuge in Contra Costa County is available for public review, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced today. The comment period will extend until November 30, 2001.
The plan describes four alternatives for managing the refuge over the next 15 years to conserve native plants and wildlife. Antioch Dunes Refuge was the first National Wildlife Refuge in the nation established to protect endangered plants and insects.
