PRESIDENT CLINTON URGES AMERICANS TO CELEBRATE EIGHTH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL MIGRATORY BIRD DAY
President Clinton issued a message today urging all Americans to celebrate International Migratory Bird Day and to recognize the contributions that birds make to our quality of life.
In his message, Clinton noted that many migratory bird species are in decline due to habitat loss and other factors. By taking actions to protect birds, the President said, citizens can also make their communities better places to live.
"Sadly, many species of these birds are suffering an alarming decline due to the degradation of their natural habitats. Polluted air, chemicals in fields, rivers and streams, toxic waste dumps, shrinking wild spaces
