About Daniel Elbert
Dan Elbert serves as the Project Leader for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Tennessee Ecological Services Field Office, overseeing a team that manages the nation’s fifth-largest portfolio of federally endangered species. He focuses on collaboration and strategic partnerships to advance conservation and endangered species recovery. Dan began his career with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as a biologist in Michigan, supporting recovery efforts, conservation planning, and eagle permitting. He later worked in Oregon on coastal ecosystem restoration and predator management, and at Headquarters, where he contributed to national initiatives in recovery planning, grants, and species classification.
