Overview

Lobelia monostachya, a member of the Campanulaceae (bellflower) family, is a prostrate woody shrub with stems 15 to 25 cm (6 to 10 in) long. The leaves are stalkless, linear, hairless, 7 to 15 cm (2.8 to 6 in) long, and 0.4 to 0.7 cm (0.2 to 0.3 in) wide. The flowering stalk is unbranched. The corolla is pale magenta, 15 to 18 mm (0.6 to 0.7 in) long, and approximately 5 mm (0.2 in) wide. The lobes of the corolla overlap spirally.
