Cyrtandra ferripilosa is a shrub 1.5 to 3.5 m (4.9 to 11.5 ft) tall. Opposite leaves unequal, petiole 1.5 to 4 cm (0.6 to 1.6 in) long, densely minutely hairy, blade subcoriaceous and elliptic to oblanceolate, 6.8 to 19.7 x 1.7 to 7.7 cm (2.7 to 7.8 x 0.7 to 3 in). Flowers grouped 1 to 6 with 13 to 25 mm (0.5 to 1 in) long stems. White corolla is 25 mm (1 in) long and hairy.
