Carpodacus cassinii

Cassin's Finch

Overview

Cassin's Finch adult male's red coloration is concentrated on the crown, with back, breast, and flanks pale and pinkish, and finely streaked undertail-coverts and flanks. In females and juvenile males, breast and flanks are more cleanly white and more finely streaked. Brown ear-patch contrasts less distinctly with pale lines above and below eye in female and immature male Cassin's Finch than in Purple Finch.
