Overview

The adult Black Rosy-Finch is medium-sized; dark brownish black on back, breast, neck, and face; gray patches wrapping around back of head; black forehead; pink on belly, rump, and in wings. Juveniles are similar to females, but are lighter, usually grayer brown, lacking silver-gray crown, have a black forehead, and pink on feather margins.
