Overview

lsodendrion hosakae, a member of the Violaceae (violet) family, is a small, erect shrub about 46 to 76 cm (18 to 30 in) tall. Leaves are narrow, lance-shaped, about 2.5 cm (1 in) long; the upper portion of the stem is nearly concealed by the persistent leaf stipules. Flowers are about 1.3 cm (1/2 in) long and are yellowish green to whitish in color. The fruit is a capsule, elliptical in shape, about 1 cm (3/8 in) long and 0.6 cm (1/4 inch) wide.
