3-200-48: Import of Birds under an Approved Cooperative Breeding Program under the WBCA

This application is used to apply to import birds listed under the Wild Bird Conservation Act after you have an established Cooperative Breeding Program (CBP). To apply for a CBP, submit form 3-200-49 prior to submitting this application.

To Complete This Form You Will Need the Following:

  • All foreign collecting permits or authorizing letters from the appropriate government authority allowing the collection of the bird(s)  
  • If the bird(s) was/were captive-bred, additional documentation will need to be submitted with the application, including: 
  1. A signed and dated breeder’s statement 
  2. Documentation showing how the requested birds were acquired 
  3. Documentation on the parental stock of the requested birds 
  • The CITES export permit/re-export certificate issued by the foreign CITES Management Authority 
  • Endorsement letter from the approved CBP lead cooperator
