3-200-47: Import of Birds for Scientific Research or Zoological Breeding and Display under the WBCA

This application can be used to apply for the import of non-native CITES-listed birds for scientific research or zoological breeding and display under the Wild Bird Conservation Act.  

To Complete This Form You Will Need the Following:

Information about the birds you wish to import, including...

• Their origin.
• Their population status in the wild.
• Your facilities, including qualifications of personnel.
• Your research proposal for activities involving scientific research.
• Your expertise in breeding programs for activating involving zoological breeding and display.
• Any applicable documents to show the legal acquisition and transfer of the specimens. 
• The CITES export permit/re-export certificate issued by the foreign CITES Management Authority.
