Fishing is offered year-round in refuge waters, except during the muzzleloader deer hunt. Providence ponds, north of the refuge office, are closed one day prior to the beginning of waterfowl season through March 1. See the kiosk at the Providence ponds boat ramp for potential creel limits. Species include largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill and catfish. Trotlines, limb lines, jugs, seines and traps are prohibited.
