Within the refuge, areas north of Main Pass and south of Raphael Pass are open to hunting during the state waterfowl season. Refuge areas outside that zone provide sanctuary for wintering waterfowl and migratory birds and are closed to hunting. The most productive hunting areas are the splays and bayous north of Main Pass.
Migratory game bird, small game (rabbit), and archery-only hunting of white-tailed deer and hogs are allowed on designated areas of the refuge in accordance with state and refuge regulations. A two-day gun deer season, either sex, is offered Dec. 10-11, 2022.
Consult and download the Southeast Louisiana Refuges Complex Annual User Brochure and Regulations for specific Delta National Wildlife Refuge hunting and fishing regulations. Hunters must carry a signed copy of the refuge regulations, which serves as a refuge hunting permit.
