Junior Refuge Rangers explore the aquatic habitat at Bayou Lacombe.


A day camp exploring the wonder of wild things and Louisiana's native habitat. For youth ages 8 - 10. 

Junior Rangers will explore nature while enjoying a variety of outdoor activities such as canoeing, fishing, wildlife observation, hiking, and helping with habitat restoration projects. Activities will take place at the Southeast Louisiana National Wildlife Refuges Headquarters in Lacombe, LA and at Big Branch Marsh and Bayou Sauvage National Wildlife Refuges.

The camp is a collaborative effort between the Friends of Louisiana Wildlife Refuges and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

REGISTRATION OPENING IN SPRING 2021, DATE TBD.

*CAMPERS WILL BE SELECTED BY RANDOM DRAWING. PREFERENCE IS GIVEN TO CHILDREN WHO HAVE NOT PREVIOUSLY ATTENDED JUNIOR RANGER DAY CAMP.
