Proposed Rule for the Spring Summer Subsistence Harvest of Migratory Birds in 2026

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, on behalf of the Alaska Migratory Bird Co-Management Council (AMBCC), has published this proposed rule in the Federal Register for the subsistence harvest of migratory birds in Alaska on Monday, March 9, 2026.  The regulatory changes included were proposed by the AMBCC in April 2025 and would take effect beginning with the 2026 spring and summer harvest season.  The rule also includes corresponding administrative clarifications identified by the Service that simplify the regulations for this region.
