Orcutt's spineflower (Chorizanthe orcuttiana) skeleton is an endangered species. This is a piece of the plant's skeleton after it has completed it's life cycle. The small (1-15 cm) annual plant species is known to be found only in San Diego County, California. Listed as federally endangered, this plant prefers habitat within southern maritime chaparral or associated coastal sage scrub.
