The 1993-1994 Junior Duck Stamp, featuring a single redhead, is the first stamp to be released as a single issue Junior Duck Stamp by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The stamp sold for $5.

In 1993, Jason Parsons, of Canton, Ill., became the first national Junior Duck Stamp artist with his painting of a redhead. As well as being an outdoorsman and photographer, Parsons is a conservationist and art teacher. He promotes the Junior Duck Stamp contest yearly, saying he likes "passing it on." Parsons donates art to benefit Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, Wild Turkey Federation, as well as to benefit cancer victims.
