An imperial moth larva munches on wax myrtle leaves near the visitor center at Eastern Shore of Virginia National Wildlife Refuge. The larvae can be green or brown. Adult imperial moths do not feed and this individual must subsist only on what it consumed as a caterpillar when it emerges as an adult to mate.
