Goodnight I Wind Project Eagle Permit NEPA Documents

FGE Goodnight I, LLC has requested a 30-year incidental take permit, pursuant to the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, for take of bald and golden eagles associated with the operation of the Goodnight I Wind Project (Project). The Project is a 265.5-megawatt wind energy facility consisting of 59 turbines located on approximately 19,500 acres of land in Armstrong County in northern Texas, and the Project began commercial operations in December 2023. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service prepared a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) to analyze the environmental consequences of issuing an eagle incidental take permit, pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The Draft EA was posted for public review and comment on December 18, 2023, and was open for a 45-day comment period. The Final EA and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) are provided below.
