This particular style of egg jar was invented by Marshall McDonald in 1882. The swirled glass feet are not as common as other styles of egg jars that have a pedestal base. This egg jar and others are part of the collection at the National Fish and Aquatic Conservation Archives housed at D.C. Booth Historic National Fish Hatchery.
