Gila trout transported by helicopter

A helicopter airlifts the Iron Creek lineage of Gila trout from the 2026 Sacaton Fire. A waiting U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service truck collected the fish and then drove hundreds of miles to the Mora National Fish Hatchery. All the fish collected survived.
