On Friday, October 2, 2026, Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge will come alive with music, dance, culture, and activities celebrating the connections between people, wildlife, and the natural world.
4:00–8:00 PM | World Migratory Bird Day Activities
Join us as we celebrate World Migratory Bird Day and the birds traveling from Western New York to wintering grounds throughout Mexico, Central America, and South America.
Throughout the evening, enjoy family-friendly activities, learn about migratory birds and the incredible distances they travel, and discover how the habitats we protect here at Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge are connected to ecosystems across the hemisphere. We'll have bird mask making, pinecone bird feeder making, mock bird banding station, bird-friendly promise poster to add on to, and education around some of our special birds like the Purple Martin and Eastern Bluebird!
5:00–6:30 PM | Amor and Heritage – Traditional Dance Company
Experience the vibrant traditions of Hispanic culture through an exciting performance by Amor and Heritage – Traditional Dance Company. Through traditional dance and music, they will share stories, traditions, and cultural heritage while celebrating the diversity and richness of Hispanic communities.
