Waterfowl Hunting Workshop

The refuge, in partnership with the New Jersey Fish & Wildlife’s R3 Hunting & Shooting Program and the Wallkill River Chapter of Ducks Unlimited will be hosting a waterfowl hunting workshop on Saturday, August 24, 2024. This workshop is designed to educate hunters and to recruit, retain, and reactivate waterfowl hunters to preserve this storied tradition. Although this is a waterfowl hunting workshop, the emphasis will be on hunting puddle ducks. This workshop is sure to have waterfowl hunters excited for the upcoming season! 

Workshop Overview: The workshop is open to new or inexperienced hunters and those who may be interested in getting back into waterfowl hunting. The program will include an in-depth mixture of classroom and field demonstrations. If you have your own calls or equipment, feel free to bring them along. Participants can expect to gain knowledge that will help them feel comfortable to begin their first waterfowl season, or their first season back after a long hiatus. 

When: Saturday, August 24th 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Wallkill River NWR 

Address: 136 Owen Stations Road, Sussex, New Jersey. 

Workshop Fee: FREE- Lunch option provided by Ducks Unlimited.
