Walk for the Wild with Friends of Missisquoi NWR

The Friends of Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge invite you to participate in the 2024 Walk for the Wild 5K Challenge. The Walk for the Wild 5K Challenge can be completed on the trails or on the water! The Friends will be at the refuge on Sunday, October 13, to help you get moving in the right direction! Choose how you to participate: - To complete the 5K Challenge by foot, come to the Visitor Center anytime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.. You will be introduced to 3 of the refuge's trails and a variety of habitats. Your 5K Challenge will include a walk on the Discovery Trail (loop), the Stephen Young Marsh Trail (loop), and a portion of the Old Railroad Passage Trail (out and back). These trails can be done in any order but together will total 5K. Volunteers will be located at each trailhead to help guide you on your way. Stop in at the Visitor Center to pick up a map if you're new to the refuge. - To complete the 5K Challenge by water, put in your canoe or kayak at Mac's Bend between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. No canoe or kayak? No problem! There will be a limited number of kayaks on hand for those who may need one.
