Textures of Traditions - Pre-Registration Required

A free event in celebration of Native American Heritage Month

10 am - 4 pm Visit the Friends of Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge Flyway Nature Store  while everything is 20% off for Small Business Saturday and Native American Heritage Month! 

10 am - 3 pm Walk-in crafts for all ages will be available. This event is perfect for those interested in art, nature, and indigenous culture!

1 pm - Enjoy an enlightening talk on the Haudenosaunee Thanksgiving Address and the Three Sisters—corn, beans, and squash—central to indigenous agriculture (pre-registration required). 

2 pm - Participate in an oil pastel class that explores indigenous textures, with a special focus on the Three Sisters (pre-registration required). 

Registration Information: Pre-registration is REQUIRED for the Haudenosaunee Thanksgiving Address/Three Sisters Talk at 1pm and the Oil Pastel Class at 2pm. What to Bring: This program is held partially indoors. Dress comfortably.
