Moonshine, train wrecks, the crash of the Brandenburg balloon— hear some of the local lore as told in the “Behold, the Land of Canaan” books on the history of the valley. Join Ranger JJ for this interpretive snowshoe walk and learn about some of the stories that shaped the Valley's history.
This guided hike will start at White Grass Ski Touring Center and will be around one mile on slightly uneven terrain. This event may be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. Please stay tuned to our website and Facebook page for updates to this event.
Our winter walks take place on snowshoes, conditions allowing. If you would like to reserve a pair of snowshoes for a walk, email canaanvalley@fws.gov in advance the number of pairs requested and for which walk. Unfortunately, we do not have any child-size snowshoes.
