The northern saw-whet owl, once thought as non-migratory, travels at night unseen and is the center of research in Project OwlNet. Join LeJay Graffious from the Old Hemlock Foundation for a banding demonstration of northern saw-whet owls. This program starts at 8PM and runs until 10PM, or until the first owl is processed (whichever is sooner). Please meet at the hunter access lot on Forest Road 80, which is the gravel lot on the right at the end of Freeland Road.

This bird-banding research project operates with all necessary federal and state permits. This demonstration is a free program open to the public. Please dress appropriately for the weather. This program may be canceled or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Please stay tuned to our website and Facebook page for updates to this event.
