Nature Novice: Intro to Birding at Bass Ponds

Birds of a feather walk together! Discover the art of birding as refuge staff introduce the birding basics of binocular use, field guides and the Merlin app as we hike along the Bass Ponds trails.

Meet Us: Meet at the upper Bass Ponds trailhead near the parking lot.

What to Bring: Weather appropriate dress, walking shoes, and binoculars if you have them.

Accessibility: Restrooms are located at the lower trailhead, a short but steep downhill walk from the parking lot. This walk takes place on mostly flat ground on a paved service road, wooden boardwalks, and natural surface paths.

Program Leader: This program is led by refuge staff.
