The Bald Eagle Wild Read Book Discussion

The USFWS Library invites you to join us for our online Wild Read book discussion of The Bald Eagle by Jack E. Davis on Thursday, November 16 at 3 PM EST.

Please register in advance.

This fall, America’s Wild Read is back in session featuring a biography of our national bird, The Bald Eagle: The Improbable Journey of America’s Bird by Jack E. Davis. Open your books and prepare to learn everything you ever wanted to know (and more) about Haliaeetus leucocephalus, from how it became such a powerful symbol of the United States to the story of its near extinction and comeback. Filled with insight into humanity’s relationship to this unique bird, The Bald Eagle is a fascinating natural and cultural history.

The Wild Read book club meetings are a place where the readers should come ready to reflect on the reading, answer discussion questions, and enjoy some time together through a conversation on conservation literature. We hope you join us and share your thoughts and perspectives from the reading. Taliah Farnsworth, Education Specialist, will kick off the discussion with a talk on the National Bald Eagle Repository.

FWS employees may email megan_burdi@fws.gov to borrow a print copy as available. For the public, The Bald Eagle can be found at your local library or bookstore.
