Art in the Wild - National Wildlife Refuge Week Celebration

Celebrate the nation’s largest network of public lands dedicated to wildlife conservation! Join us at San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge for a day of painting with local artist Maira Meza where she will lead 3, 45-minute paint lessons with pre-sketched canvas of an endangered light-footed Ridgway’s rail, an endangered Quino checkerspot butterfly, and plantago, the larval host plant of the Quino checkerspot butterfly. Paint lessons are free but we will have limited canvas. Secure your spot and canvas by e-mailing Nancy_Fernandez@fws.gov with your time preference (10 am, 11 am, or 12 pm) and choice of canvas. Some canvas will be available at walk-up the day of the event. There will also be a table with information on the Junior Duck Stamp Contest where you can practice your waterfowl drawing skills. We look forward to celebrating with you!
